1st National Meeting of Young Care Leavers

Plataforma PAJE – Support for Young Care Leavers will hold the 1st National Meeting of Young Care Leavers on 3 July 2018.

This meeting is intended as a space for sharing stories and life experiences, enabling personal and social interaction between young people with similar backgrounds. It aims to be an opportunity to guide young people who have not yet found, or managed to follow, their life plan, to motivate through first-person testimonies, to allow reflection on residential care through the eyes of those who have been in care, and to present a range of pathways (successful and unsuccessful) after leaving residential care.

To that end, we will be joined by speakers with a history of residential care (very different experiences in terms of place, time or even the success, or otherwise, they have achieved), who will give their testimony in a setting that is meant to be open and informal.

It will be a day with a few surprises which, we hope, will help each young person reflect on the path they want to follow.

Registration is free but compulsory and should be made by email to geral@paje.pt (or by mobile phone – 913142204), stating the name of the institution and the number of people (young people and professional staff) who will attend.
