Manifesto – Child Poverty and Social Exclusion in the EU

In March, the European Commission presented the European Action Plan for Social Rights. This Action Plan calls on Member States to aim to lift at least 5 million children out of poverty by 2030 and to promote social inclusion ever more strongly.  On 7 and 8 May, at the Porto Social Summit, held during Portugal’s presidency of the EU, the aim is to ensure that Member States prioritise investment in children over the coming years.  

The EU Alliance has joined forces with the European Parliament and several organisations that defend children’s rights to keep up the pressure on the Council of the EU to adopt and implement an ambitious Child Guarantee.  Eurochild worked hard on drafting the documents that will be presented, and PAJE, as a full member, is helping to publicise the event.
