Meeting | The voice of children and young people in residential care

· Event

PAJE – being national in scope – organises and takes part in events all over the country. We sometimes publicise them, as those who follow us here may be interested 😉

Some children have to leave their family to go into Residential Care. For some, this stop lasts until or beyond the age of majority; others return to their family; others move on to other stops. Along this journey there are many feelings, such as love, loss, anguish, fear, expectation, hope, sadness, change, trust, rupture.

Residential Care, like a family, is responsible for bringing up and caring for the children it takes in. It is expected to be a place of affection, safety, care and comfort, promoting the respect and dignity of everyone who is part of it. These settings are expected to promote, in a positive way, the subjective well-being of each child and young person.

Because it is crucial that residential care establishes itself as a system capable of caring with love and boundaries, come and take part in this meeting, which is intended as a “journey” into this reality, led by the voices and narratives of the children and young people who live or have lived in it.
